Recalls
6 vehicle recalls from the manufacturer, plus 1 equipment/tire recall that can apply. Repairs are free. Check your VIN to see if one is still open on your car.
Suspension Vehicle recall #94V230000 · 1994 · 221 vehicles
What's wrong: A right-hand lower control arm tapered ball joint mounting hole was incorrectly machined. Movement within this attachment can allow the ball joint stud to fatigue and fracture.
Why it matters: If the ball joint fractured while the vehicle was in motion, loss of steering control to the vehicle can occur.
The fix: Dealers will replace the right-hand lower control arm and ball joint stud on all involved vehicles.
Steering Vehicle recall #95V030000 · 1995 · 420 vehicles
What's wrong: The four (4) steering column support bracket attaching bolts were under torqued during assembly.
Why it matters: Inadequate torque can cause these bolts to vibrate, loosen, or fall out resulting in loss of steering control and increase the potential for a vehicle crash.
The fix: Dealers will retorque the steering column support bracket attaching bolts to the correct specifications.
Speed control / throttle Vehicle recall #95V214000 · 1995 · 6,772 vehicles
What's wrong: These vehicles were assembled with throttle cable support brackets that could contact the throttle lever system and inhibit the throttle return. This does not meet the requirements of fmvss no. 124, "accelerator control systems."
Why it matters: Consequence of non-compliance: the throttle May faitl to return quickly causing the engine speed to not decrease to a level anticipated by the driver.
The fix: Dealers will replace the throttle cable support bracket.
Visibility (wipers, glass) Vehicle recall #97V017000 · 1997 · 349,331 vehicles
What's wrong: Some of these vehicles have a strained or separated washer/wiper switch power feed wire.
Why it matters: This can cause the windshield washer/wiper to work intermittently and could ultimately result in inoperative wipers. If this were to occur in a severe weather situation, driver visibility could be reduced, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
The fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the old designed washer/wiper switches with a newly designed switch.
Seat belts Vehicle recall #97V065000 · 1997 · 50,709 vehicles
What's wrong: The center rear seat belt anchor plate exhibits stress cracks.
Why it matters: In the event of a vehicle crash, the seat belt system can fracture and injury to the seat occupant can occur.
The fix: Dealers will replace the center rear seat belt system.
Seat belts Vehicle recall #98V306000 · 1998 · 111,470 vehicles
What's wrong: The center rear seat belt anchor plate exhibits stress cracks.
Why it matters: In the event of a vehicle crash, the seat belt system can fracture, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant.
The fix: Dealers will replace the center rear seat belt system.
1 aftermarket equipment / tire recall replacement parts sold to fit this car, not the car itself
Fuel system (other) Equipment recall #07E021000 · 2007 · 742 vehicles
What's wrong: Certain delphi fuel pressure regulators, p/nos. Fp10020-11b1, fp10026-11b1, and fp10027-11b1, sold after January 9, 2007, as aftermarket equipment for various passenger vehicles listed above. The universal pressure regulators (upr) were produced without an o'ring and retainer.
Why it matters: Fuel May leak, possibly resulting in a fire.
The fix: Delphi will notify owners and replace the upr free of charge. The recall began on April 23, 2007. Owners can contact delphi at 877-411-8770.
