Transmission & drivetrain Vehicle recall #06V341000 · 2006 · 4,770 vehicles

What's wrong: On certain passenger and sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks equipped with automatic transmissions, the software programmed into the powertrain control module can cause a momentary lock up of the drive wheels if the vehicle is traveling over 40 mph and the operator shifts from drive to neutral and back to drive.

Why it matters: If the drive wheels locked up, loss of vehicle control could occur increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will reprogram the powertrain control module free of charge. The recall began on October 2, 2006.

The fix: Knapheide will offer two remedies to its customers: (1) for those customers who do not use the hitch, the hitch will be removed from the truck bed and replaced with an icc bumper; or (2) for those customers who need a hitch, a receiver hitch assembly will be added to the existing hitch assembly and…

Engine & cooling Vehicle recall #08V641000 · 2008 · 108,429 vehicles
