The hybrid powertrain control module (hpcm) software May shut down the hybrid system and the engine under certain conditions, causing a loss of drive power.
Why it matters: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
The fix: Dealers will reprogram the hpcm software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 31, 2022.
